Managers should be proficient and familiar with the principles, performance, and operational procedures of the fire water supply system.
Maintenance and management of water supply facilities such as fire pumps and pressure regulators shall comply with the following regulations:
Monthly, the fire pump should be manually started and operated once, and the power supply source should be inspected.
Each week, the fire pump should be automatically started to operate once under the conditions of simulated automatic control of the fire pump, and the automatic patrol inspection should be automatically recorded; monthly inspections of the records should be conducted.
Monitor and record the shutdown and startup pressures, as well as the number of startups, for the daily operation of the pressure regulating pump.
Ensure daily checks of the battery charge for the diesel fire pump's starting battery, weekly inspections of the oil storage tank's fuel level, and a monthly manual start-up of the diesel fire pump operation.
Quarterly tests of the fire pump's flow rate and pressure should be conducted.
Perform monthly inspections on pressure water tanks, including pressure levels and effective capacities.
Fire hydrants, fire pump couplings, fire pump rooms, fire pumps, pressure reducing valves, alarm valves, and valves, etc., should have clear markings.
A malfunction has occurred in the firewater supply and hydrant system. Prior to shutting off water for repairs, a report must be made to the on-duty supervisor, and the consent of the maintenance responsible party must be obtained. On-site supervision should be conducted, and work should only commence after preventive measures are taken.
When the use, function, or obstruction of a building affects the functionality of the fire water supply and hydrant system, a modification is necessary, and a redesign should be conducted.
