Pumps are categorized into electric and mechanical aspects. For the mechanical side, simply pull up the previous maintenance records for comparison and you'll know. Next, it's the electrical aspect. Understanding the power of each pump's motor and having some knowledge of its control system is essential.
Maintain and service
(1) Inspect the piping and joints of the sewage pump for any looseness. Rotate the sewage pump by hand to check if it operates smoothly.
(2) Add bearing lubricating oil to the bearing housing, ensuring the oil level is at the centerline of the oil mark. The lubricating oil should be replaced or supplemented promptly.

(4) Close the gate valves on the outlet piping, as well as the outlet pressure gauge and the inlet vacuum gauge.
(5) Test the motor to ensure the direction of rotation is correct.
(6) Start the motor. Once the sewage pump is operating normally, open the outlet pressure gauge and the inlet vacuum pump, and observe the appropriate pressure display. Gradually open the gate valve while checking the motor load.
(7) Ensure that the flow rate and head of the sewage pump are controlled within the range specified on the label to guarantee the pump operates at high efficiency points, thereby achieving energy-saving effects.
(8) During operation, the bearing temperature of the sewage pump must not exceed 35℃ above the ambient temperature, and the maximum temperature must not exceed 80℃.
If an unusual sound is detected from the sewage pump, stop the machine immediately to check the cause.
When shutting down the sewage pump, first close the gate valve and pressure gauge, then stop the motor.
(11) The centrifugal sewage pump by Zhongkai, during its operation, requires oil change after every 100 hours initially, and subsequently every 500 hours.
Regularly adjust the packing cover to ensure normal dripping conditions within the packing chamber (preferably dripping in drops).
(13) Regularly inspect the wear of the shaft sleeve; replace it promptly when excessive wear is detected.
(14) When using sewage pumps during the winter season, after parking, the drain plug at the bottom of the pump body should be unscrewed to empty the medium completely. This prevents freezing and cracking.
(15) The sewage pump has been out of use for a long time and requires full disassembly. The pump should be dried, with lubricating oil applied to the rotating parts and joints before reassembly.
