Ductile Iron GratingInstallation, it may sound like a straightforward task, but there are many junctions to pay attention to during the process. Next...Ductile Iron GratingManufacturers provide several examples to illustrate the installation process of rain grates.
The specific steps are as follows: 1. The grate brick wall should accommodate a 680mm x 380mm ductile iron grate as specified in the design drawings. 2. Based on the thickness of the ductile iron grate and the requirement that the top of the grate wall should be 3 meters lower than the design concept, it is necessary to understand the elevation of the top of the rainwater entry brick wall. 3. After the construction of the rainwater entry wall is completed, lay asphalt mixture first, and cover the rainwater entry with wooden boards during the laying process. Once the asphalt mixture has cooled, break the wooden boards, use laser cutting to trim the edges of the asphalt mixture around the rainwater entry, and clear the sediment grates and reinforced concrete specifications. Remove the dirt from the drainage channel. 4. After checking the elevation of the brick wall top cut for the rainwater entry, sprinkle water on the brick masonry wall top, apply a 2cm thick cement mortar with a 1:3 mixture at the location where the grate will be installed, and then arrange the rainwater entry grate base. Cut the cement mortar at the edge of the base layer and the interior of the rainwater entry. Keep the base level during installation, ensuring the grate base is firmly in contact with the ground without any looseness. 5. After the grate is installed, pour a 30cm wide and 30cm thick concrete protective layer around the rainwater entry brick wall and the grate. The top of the concrete protective cover wall should be 2-3cm smaller than the top of the grate wall. The third layer of asphalt concrete bedding should be laid flat. Water should be sprinkled on the protective layer concrete for maintenance. 6. During asphalt pavement construction, the rainwater entry should be positioned at the front and back of the pavement, with an area of 100cm and connected to the drainage grate within a 50cm range. It is not allowed to use construction equipment to compact the grate during the asphalt pavement construction process. Manually use the area around the grate for pavement construction, and compact with small machinery. 7. To maintain the aesthetic and modern appearance of the rainwater grate, with clear legibility, protect the upper layer of the grate when asphalt or concrete is poured on the ground to prevent soiling and avoid cleaning. 8. After the concrete or asphalt is poured for the rainwater entry shield, promptly open and clean the grate to prevent cement mortar or asphalt from adhering. The grate and the well base should be cast as a single unit to prevent injury when opened in the future.
In summary, these are the points to be aware of when installing cast iron grates. We hope that through the introduction by the rain grate manufacturer, you now have a clear and thorough understanding. That's all for today's content.
