The primary types of commercial coated sand in our country are as follows:
(1) General Class of Coating Sand
Composed of quartz sand, thermoplastic phenolic resin, urea, and calcium stearate, without any additional additives. Suitable for producing general cast iron products.
High-strength, low-gassing type coating sand
This is an upgraded product of general coated sand, formulated through the addition of relevant additives and the selection of new processes. It boasts a strength 30% higher than that of general coated sand and significantly reduced gas generation, making it suitable for producing complex precision cast iron parts.
(3) High-Temperature Coating Sand
High strength and long heat resistance under high temperatures, suitable for manufacturing complex thin-walled cast iron parts such as car engine cylinder blocks, cylinder heads, and container corners.
Item 4: Easy-deteriorating type of coated sand
The product boasts good strength and excellent low-temperature embrittlement resistance, suitable for manufacturing non-ferrous metal castings.
(5) Special Requirements for Coated Sand
To cater to the needs of various products, a series of special coated sand has been developed, including centrifugal casting coated sand, rapid cooling coated sand, wet coated sand, anti-adhesive sand, anti-vein coated sand, and anti-orange peel coated sand, among others.
The newly launched rapid curing coating sand in 2004, based on its comprehensive performance, can increase the curing speed by 30-70%, effectively enhancing production efficiency and saving energy.
