Three Essential Steps You Can't Ignore in Lightweight Partition Renovation
One, patch up
Panels and slat boards may be damaged during transportation and installation. Therefore, repairs must be made before surface finishing. Xinjiang Lightweight Partition Board Manufacturer informs us that the aerated concrete slat boards are prone to damage. The repair method involves first applying 107 glue, followed by spreading 1:1:3 (cement: plaster: aerated concrete) mortar, or directly applying mortar.
Two, grouting
1. There are three types of joining methods for panels and strips: one is a blind seam, where the back is covered with a decorative layer; the second is an exposed seam, where the joints remain open after completion; and the third is a molding seam, which involves nailing a molding over the joint.
When using concealed joints, while some partition walls are decorated with plaster of more than 10mm thickness, thus requiring no joint filling, other partition walls must be filled in first.
3. The jointing material for aerated concrete blocks and carbonated lime blocks is 1:3 cement mortar or 1:1:3-6 (cement: plaster: aerated concrete) mixed mortar.
4. The jointing method for gypsum panels is: fully apply gypsum putty or joint with gypsum putty (the mixture ratio is gypsum: perlite = 1:0.85), followed by adhering a layer of cotton paper or kraft paper with emulsion.
5. The treatment of the blind seam is relatively simple. To ensure the seam width is consistent, place a strip of wood with the same thickness as the board seam at the joint during construction. After the panel is securely fastened, remove the strip.
III. Finishing
Due to the varying types of panels and strips, moisture resistance, and flatness, the decoration standards differ, and the methods for the facing layer also vary.
2. When using metal panels, as most are pre-processed, no additional facing is generally required after installation. If石膏板(gypsum board), asbestos cement board, or aerated concrete board are used, specialized facing should be done based on the specific situation.
3. Simple surface treatment methods include brushing, painting, and spraying. The materials used for spraying should have good stability to form a protective layer after application. Otherwise, spots may appear on the surface due to varying moisture absorption capabilities of different parts of the partition board. Common spraying materials include vinyl acetate resin, chlorinated polyethylene resin, acrylic resin, phthalic anhydride resin, and synthetic rubber-based materials. Before spraying, the substrate should be cleaned, leveled, and filled with putty.
In recent years, the application of wallpaper or wall fabric made of plastic (which is primarily composed of paper or woven fabric with certain tensile strength, coated with polyvinyl chloride or polystyrene plastic using the coating or calendering method, and then embossed or foamed) has been increasingly widespread. This is due to the variety of colors available, the ability to create patterns with varying contours and texture, and excellent decorative effects; it also has a certain degree of elasticity, allowing for minor cracks on the base surface, and the wallpapering process is relatively simple.
