Drainage pipes are categorized into concrete pipes (CP) and reinforced concrete pipes (RCP). These drainage pipes are a new type of corrugated drainage plastic pipes formed by adding other additives to high-density polyethylene (HDPE), and are widely used in road, railway subgrade, subway projects, waste landfill sites, tunnels, green belts, sports fields, and slope protection due to high water content, as well as for underground irrigation and drainage systems in agriculture and horticulture. Alongside flexible permeable pipes and plastic blind ditches, they have become the three major products in China's civil engineering (seepage and drainage) sector. Depending on the drainage pressure, municipal drainage networks can opt for double-wall corrugated pipes or straight-walled pipes. The straight-walled pipes have a higher pressure-bearing capacity and are suitable for large-scale drainage and sewage networks.


Materials used typically consist of sanitary-grade PVC resin as the primary ingredient, blended with appropriate stabilizers, lubricants, fillers, and colorants. These are then extruded and injection-molded into shape using plastic extruders and injection molding machines. The production process includes cooling, curing, shaping, inspection, and packaging to yield pipe and fitting products. These products boast excellent physical and chemical properties, resistance to chemical corrosion, high impact strength, low fluid resistance, and a flow rate 30% higher than cast iron pipes of the same diameter. They are also resistant to aging and have a long service life, with a minimum usage period of 50 years, making them an ideal material for building supply and drainage systems.
