Clearwater bricks are a common building material. As novices, what should we be aware of when using these bricks?

1. Strict construction management is required during the bricklaying process. If mortar accidentally spills, never apply it to the exterior surface of the bricks. Please clean up with a brush after 3-4 hours. Delayed cleaning can affect the aesthetic appearance of the bricks.

2. Always use low water absorption black dry powder mortar for joint filling to ensure wall waterproofing and durability. The joints should be level and vertical, full, and dense. This enhances the visual appeal of the building.

3. The mixture must not contain soluble salts. The mortar consistency should be between 60-80mm for a semi-dry, low alkaline mortar. The masonry mortar should be used immediately after mixing.

4.清水砖 has an absorbency rate of about 50% of that of common bricks. Do not soak the清水砖 in water (be mindful of this); only lightly spray water to moisten before construction during unusually hot and dry weather. This differs from the traditional old red brick construction method. The purpose is to prevent mortar from渗透 into the decorative surface of the bricks, which can cause efflorescence and affect the decorative effect.

5. When laying the foundation or top layer bricks, opt for waterproof mortar application. It is advisable to coat the walls with silicone-based paint to prevent moisture and alkali efflorescence. This enhances the waterproofing, dustproofing, and durability properties.

6. At the end of each day's bricklaying, to prevent rain and leakage from causing water accumulation in the brick holes, leading to efflorescence or mortar being washed onto the brick surface, it is necessary to cover the top of the brick wall with a rainproof tarp to avoid affecting the decorative effect.

When laying the bottom bricks, position the tie wire at the center of the mortar joint height, and ensure the "staggered overlapping" requirement is met. Reasonably space the width of the mortar joints.
