People have grown accustomed to using the appliances around them, and a power outage can cause quite a hassle. Generators can provide peace of mind, but power outages are usually rare occurrences, making it not cost-effective to purchase one. Therefore, some individuals have identified the market potential and have started offering generator rentals. However, many people are not familiar with generators, so today, I'll give you a brief introduction.
The generator is composed of components such as the stator, rotor, end caps, base, and bearings. The stator is made up of the base, stator core, winding, and other parts that secure these elements. The rotor rotates within the stator, cutting magnetic flux lines, thereby generating induced electromotive force for power generation.
Generator Classification:
1. Basic Engine Set: This type of engine set is commonly used, consisting of a diesel engine, enclosed water tank, fuel tank, muffler, synchronous AC generator, excitation voltage regulator, control box, coupling, and chassis. The set features automatic voltage and speed regulation. It is typically used as a primary power source or backup power supply.
2. Self-starting Unit: This unit is based on the standard model and incorporates an automated control system. It boasts automated functions. In the event of a sudden power outage, the unit can automatically start up, switch over, operate, supply power, and shut down. Additionally, it can automatically initiate emergency protection in case of overspeeding.
3. Microcomputer-Controlled Automation Unit: Comprising an automatic cooling water supply device and an automatic control panel. The automatic control panel is equipped with a programmable logic controller (PLC) for control. In addition to features like self-start, self-switch, self-run, self-connection, and self-shutdown, it also includes various fault alarms and automatic protection devices. Furthermore, it connects to the main computer via an RS232 communication interface for centralized monitoring, enabling remote control, remote signaling, and remote measurement, ensuring unattended operation.
Basic Concept of Diesel Generator Sets:
The diesel generator set is composed of a diesel engine, an alternating current generator, a control system, and various auxiliary components. It is a device that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy, providing power to users via cables.
Typically serving as backup or primary power sources, they feature mobility, ease of use, continuous availability, and simple maintenance.
Diesel engines can be categorized as light-duty and heavy-duty units based on the type of diesel used.
The units can be categorized by their rotational speed into: high-speed units, medium-speed units, and low-speed units. They can also be classified by application into: land-based units and marine units.
The power generation units can be categorized based on their operational duration: standby units and continuous operation units.
By application features: Trailer-mounted units, Whisper Quiet units, Waterproof units, Standard units.
