① Chloroprene rubber: It is an excellent universal rubber with mechanical properties and resistance to various chemicals. Suitable for preparing soft shoe printing rollers, gravure printing rollers, etc. Rubber roller molding can be achieved through various methods such as compression molding, film wrapping, winding, or extrusion molding. Due to the poor storage stability of the rubber material, attention should be paid to avoiding parking in direct sunlight during the manufacturing process, and the temperature conditions for parking the rubber material should be controlled.
② Nitrile rubber: It has outstanding resistance to hydrocarbon inks, various minerals, plant oils, and various solvents. Used for manufacturing printing rubber rollers, food industry rubber rollers, textile printing and dyeing rubber rollers, soft rubber rollers that come into contact with solvents, etc. The rolling process can be used by any method except casting. Nitrile rubber has poor ozone resistance, and the anti ozone agents commonly used for natural rubber have little effect on nitrile rubber. Therefore, operations in high ozone concentration environments should be avoided during processing. By combining nitrile rubber with polyvinyl chloride, a rubber compound with good ozone resistance and weather resistance can be obtained. The textile rubber rollers prepared with a combination of rubber materials have good performance, bright colors, and lower costs compared to using nitrile rubber alone.
③ Polyurethane rubber: It has outstanding tensile strength, wear resistance, and crack resistance. Polyester polyurethane rubber has good resistance to various solvents. Polyurethane rubber rollers have been widely used in industries such as papermaking, steel, textiles, and printing. Used for manufacturing printing rollers, paper folding rollers, sizing rollers, fiberglass cutting rollers, rice milling rollers, etc. Polyurethane rubber rollers can be prepared by casting or molding methods. During the processing, it is important to avoid contact with acidic or alkaline solutions, especially at high temperatures. In addition, continuous exposure of the rubber material to high temperatures and humid environments can also cause adverse noise to its performance. Polyurethane rubber rollers used for high-speed and high-pressure applications, with a focus on improving dynamic roller detachment and cracking phenomena.
④ Silicone rubber: It has release properties for various materials, with a heat resistance of 200-250 ℃ and good chemical resistance. Its main disadvantage is low tensile strength. The typical uses of silicone rubber rollers include fabric heat setting, plastic heat setting embossing, calendering, and copier fixing. The silicone rubber roller is formed by wrapping film, and due to its low strength, it must be operated carefully.
⑤ Chlorosulfonated polyethylene: It has high toughness and elasticity, wear resistance, heat resistance up to 150 ℃, good resistance to various chemicals and oils, and some insulation properties. The rubber roller made of chlorosulfonated polyethylene is smooth and bubble free, and has the advantage of separating from various materials. Can be used as corona treatment roller, rice milling roller, etc. Chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber rollers can be manufactured using various methods other than casting, and the rubber material should be kept away from sunlight during the production process.
⑥ Ethylene propylene rubber: can be used under high temperature conditions of 150 ℃, has chemical resistance and resistance to polar solvents, but is not resistant to hydrocarbon solvents and oils. Can be used to prepare extrusion rollers, conveyor rollers, and printing rollers that come into contact with inks containing acetone and ester solvents. Rollers can be wrapped and extruded for forming, and attention should be paid to avoiding contact with oil and hydrocarbon solvents during process operation.
⑦ Chlorinated ether rubber: similar in performance to nitrile rubber, with some resistance to hydrocarbon solvents, but better in heat resistance than nitrile rubber, and can be used at 150 ℃. Chloroether rubber can be used to prepare printing coating rollers, ESA gravure printing rollers, etc. The roller is made using the film wrapping method, and there are no special requirements for the process.
⑧ Polysulfide rubber: It has outstanding resistance to various types of solvents and mixed solvents, while the physical properties of vulcanized rubber are poor. Can be used to prepare coating rollers. Rubber rollers are manufactured using the film wrapping method or casting method. Due to poor strength, caution must be taken when wrapping the rubber rollers. In addition, chlorinated polyethylene can also be used as the outer adhesive layer of rubber rollers, which are used for pressure rollers in the steel industry or for conveying rubber rollers in copiers.
