Metal Calcium
Metallic calcium series products are ideal deoxidizers, decarburizers, desulfurizers, and dephosphorizers for producing special and alloy steels; they also serve as reducing agents for obtaining pure rare earth metals. Adding a small amount of calcium to cast iron can enhance its fluidity and strength, and calcium is an excellent reducing agent in non-ferrous metallurgy. Lead-calcium alloys with added calcium have better hardness and corrosion resistance than pure lead, and they can be used to produce maintenance-free lead-calcium-tin batteries and cable sheaths; they also find extensive applications in the pharmaceutical industry, where calcium is a good dehydrating agent, and in the chemical and electronic industries as well.
