Wooden railing is primarily made from preservative-treated wood, which is not a modification process but a protective measure, retaining the original physical properties of the wood. The original use of the wood is maintained in preservative-treated wood, and its applications are expanded due to the chemical properties of the preservative wood.

Today, preservative-treated wood is extensively used in the maintenance and renovation of ancient Chinese architecture, as well as in municipal projects, parks, and residential communities for applications such as preservative wood fences, tree pit railings, wooden fences, walkways, leisure paths, seating, planters, railings, trash bins, waiting shelters, and landscape bridges, among various outdoor woodworking projects. It can also be employed in indoor decorative pieces.

Due to the varying compositions of different preservatives, it's necessary to distinguish between different preservatives when treating wood for various locations.

Treated wood retains the natural, eco-friendly visual, tactile, and auditory properties of wood, while also enhancing its anti-corrosion characteristics and flame-retardant properties. It is widely used in industries, agriculture (supporting wood for crops), and construction. As people's demands for living environments improve, its applications have gradually expanded to include log cabin villas, flooring platforms, verandas, wooden bridges, garden furniture, trellises, pots, and a variety of other outdoor wooden products, satisfying people's appreciation for nature, simplicity, and unity. Developed countries in Europe and America have been widely using it since the 1950s.
