I. Overview of Beam-Type Sludge (Suction) Scraper

The cantilever scraper is widely used for sludge scraping and suction in horizontal flow sedimentation tanks. The machine is compact in structure, reliable in operation, and equipped with an automatic control and overload protection system. For sump scrapers with a track spacing of 4 meters, the central drive is used for those with a spacing of 6 meters or more. It primarily utilizes a central drive and a suspended design. Wastewater enters the guide tube through the pipeline under the working bridge, spreads after guidance, and flows uniformly outward in a radial pattern around. The sludge, in suspension, settles at the bottom of the tank. The driving device rotates the central vertical shaft, which in turn drives the scraper arm and scraper plate to scrape the sludge from the pool perimeter to the central mud collection channel. The sludge is then discharged out of the pool through the sludge outlet pipe due to the static water pressure inside the pool. Floating solids on the water surface are removed to the pool edge by the skimming device and then scraped into the sludge outlet hopper by the scraper for discharge outside the pool. The clarified liquid flows out through the triangular overflow weir plate into the outlet channel.

Chassis scraper is suitable for horizontal flow sedimentation tanks in water supply and drainage projects. It scrapes sludge settled at the bottom of the tank into the mud collecting channel and removes floating debris from the surface to the debris collecting channel. Floating debris scraper can be set according to user requirements. Depending on the water flow direction, it can be divided into reverse scraping with reverse waste discharge and reverse scraping with concurrent waste discharge. The scraper is raised fully when not scraping during the return journey. When it returns to the starting position of scraping, the scraper is lowered, thus repeating the cycle.

Section 2: Working Principle of the Girder-Type Sludge (Suction) Scaler


The central drive unit powers the scraper and mud suction frame to rotate within the pond through a central upright structure. The mud suction pipe hangs below the suction frame and is connected to the central mud collection cylinder. As it rotates, it relies on the water level difference between inside and outside the pond to suck the active sludge at the bottom into the collection cylinder and discharge it outside the pond. On the opposite side of the mud suction arm is the scraper arm, equipped with a scraper blade under the scraper arm that gradually scrapes the inert sludge at the bottom to the central mud collection pit at the pond's center, and then discharges it outside. The surface skimming device collects and scrapes the floating debris on the surface to the waste collection trough at the pond's edge for discharge outside. The scraper and walking motor operate independently without interference. The bottom of the scraper is equipped with an underwater walking wheel structure to ensure smooth operation. Both walking motors are synchronous motors, ensuring consistent and smooth movement on both sides.


Section 3: Main Structure of the Girdle-Type Scraper (Sucker) Machine

Drive-on Mud Sucker [Composed mainly of transmission unit, driven shaft assembly, driving shaft assembly, adjustment device, bracket, electrical control box, and other components.]

(1) The transmission unit is mounted on the walking wheel bracket and consists of an asynchronous induction motor, a cycloidal pinwheel reducer, gears, and a base. This transmission unit features high transmission efficiency, high torque, smooth operation, and low noise. A safety shear pin is set in the output shaft sprocket of the reducer to achieve overload protection for the machine. The motor reducer has sufficient output torque, with its rated torque exceeding 1.25 times the scraper mud scraping torque. It is also equipped with a scraper and pool bottom up-down adjustment mechanism to control the distance between the scraper and the pool bottom, with a range of 0-50mm.

(2) After installation, the transmission unit does not require up/down adjustments. It primarily relies on the meshing of the drive gears for operation. The gears must have a tight and even engagement with no noise.

(3) Mud Sucker [The mud sucker should not interfere with the walking motor during operation; they should run independently without any interference.]

Five:特点 of Girdle Scrubber (Suction Cleaner)

1. The sedimentation basin's inlets and outlets are designed with side sections, ensuring uniform water distribution and outflow around the basin.

2. The drive unit employs a combination of bevel gear reducer and worm gear reducer to ensure output torque and speed, with high transmission efficiency; the reducer is equipped with an overload torque protection device, ensuring safe and reliable operation.

3. For Φ≤40m, use a single-sided suction tube; for Φ>40m, use a double-sided suction tube.

4. Suction pipes are designed to drain mud in a horizontal perforated pipe manner, ensuring no interference with the stratified flow within the pond, thereby guaranteeing the stability of the outflow.

5. The suction mouth on the conical sludge pipe is uniquely designed with variable hole spacing, gradually increasing from the inside to the outside, ensuring even sludge suction across the entire pool bottom, enhancing suction concentration, and saving sludge return energy.

6. There are two types of skimming methods: plate-type skimming and pipe-type skimming.

7. The equipment is easy to operate, with direct on-site/remote control of its operation

8. The machine features a truss structure, significantly lighter than traditional designs. It is processed with hot-dip galvanized anti-corrosion technology, ensuring no rust for up to 5 years. Components in contact with water are made of 304 stainless steel, greatly extending the service life.
9. Low maintenance, minimal power consumption, and low crane operation costs; pump selection is reasonable, ensuring smooth and reliable crane operation.
