Gabion mesh, also known as gabion, wire mesh box, or wire笼, is a material used in hydraulic and ecological engineering. It is made of woven box-shaped mesh from high-corrosion-resistant, high-strength, and ductile low-carbon steel wire, or low-carbon steel wire coated with PVC or PE. Gabion mesh is commonly used for slope support, foundation pit support, rock face meshing and shotcrete, slope vegetation, and railway and highway isolation railing. Additionally, gabion mesh can be made into box-like structures or mesh pads for erosion protection of rivers, embankments, and sea dikes, as well as for reservoir and river diversion net boxes.
