Post-treatment of AlCrN Coating: Post-treatment is a crucial method to enhance the performance of AlCrN coatings. Common post-treatment techniques include ion etching, wet sandblasting, dry sandblasting, and micro-shot peening. These methods effectively remove large particles from the coating surface, reduce surface roughness, thereby improving the coating's friction and wear resistance, as well as cutting performance. Ion Etching: By bombarding the coating surface with ion beams, surface particles and contaminants are removed. Although ion etching has a relatively weak particle removal effect, it can improve the coating's microscopic morphology. Wet Sandblasting: Utilizing high-pressure water flow carrying abrasive particles to blast the coating surface, surface particles are removed. Wet sandblasting effectively removes surface particles and significantly reduces surface roughness. Dry Sandblasting: Similar to wet sandblasting, but using compressed air instead of high-pressure water. Dry sandblasting can also effectively remove surface particles from the coating but may cause some damage to the coating. Micro-shot Peening: Using high-speed micro-particles to impact the coating surface, surface particles are removed and surface stress is improved. Micro-shot peening enhances the coating's cutting performance and fatigue life.
