Aluminum anode is an excellent sacrificial anode material. It boasts superior corrosion resistance, lightweight, easy installation, long service life, and low cost. It also features high electrochemical properties, with the power generation capacity of the anode material per unit weight being about three times that of zinc anode and twice that of magnesium anode.
In marine environments, aluminum anodes demonstrate stable performance with strong self-regulating current output capabilities. While protecting metal structures, they also adjust the protective potential. Therefore, aluminum anodes are commonly used for the protection of offshore platforms, wharf piles, ship hulls, and other metal structures, and can also be applied for cathodic protection of land-based chemical pipelines and inner walls of storage tanks.
