Fiber bundle filter

Equipment Introduction
A fiber filter is an excellent structural-performance pressure filter, utilizing a new type of bundled soft packing material—fibers—as the filtering element. The diameter of the filter media can reach several tens or even several micrometers, offering advantages such as a large specific surface area and low filtration resistance. It resolves issues such as the filtration accuracy of granular filter media being limited by the particle size. The small diameter of the filter media increases the specific surface area and surface free energy, enhancing the contact opportunities and adsorption capacity of the filter media with impurity particles in water, thereby improving the filtration efficiency and the capacity to retain pollutants.
Fiber filter, a type of water treatment equipment, includes a filter housing and water inlet and outlet systems, fixed porous plates inside the housing, fiber bundles, filter element density adjustment plates and float balls, adjustment plate limit devices, and an aeration system. A filter element density adjustment plate guide rod is positioned at the center of the housing. The rod is fixed at one end to the center of the fixed porous plate and at the other end to the inner wall of the housing by a bracket. This utility model prevents the adjustment plate from being jammed when it shifts by setting a guide rod at the center of the adjustment plate. Additionally, an external density limit adjustment device is used, allowing manual adjustment of the density limit device without shutting down the equipment or draining water. External adjustment can be controlled by a PLC to achieve an automatic control process.
High-efficiency fiber filters effectively remove suspended particles from water and exhibit significant removal of organic matter, colloids, iron, manganese, and more. They offer fast filtration speed, high precision, large dirt-holding capacity, ease of operation, reliable performance, and no need for special maintenance. These filters are widely applicable for water filtration and treatment in various industrial sectors, including power, oil, chemicals, metallurgy, papermaking, textiles, food, beverages, potable water, swimming pools, and wastewater.
Technical Parameters and Features
(1) Fast filtration speed: typically 30m to 60m/h, 3 to 5 times faster than quartz sand filters.
(2) High Filtration Precision: When the incoming water turbidity after coagulation treatment is ≤20 NTU, the filtered water turbidity is ≤1 NTU; when the incoming water turbidity is ≤100 NTU, the filtered water turbidity is ≤3 NTU.
(3) Low filtration resistance: At a filtration rate of 30 m/h, the initial pressure drop is approximately 0.02 Mpa.
(4) Compact equipment size: Approximately 1/4 to 1/3 the volume of a quartz sand filter with the same water filtration capacity.
(5) Large Wastewater Holding Capacity: The equipment has a wastewater holding capacity of 10-15 kg/m3 (filter material), which is 2-4 times that of traditional filters.
(6) Low water consumption: The backwash water is only about 1-2% of the water production, with a short backwash time of approximately 10-15 minutes.
(7) High resistance to load impact: Ensures effluent quality even with short-term deterioration of incoming water quality. High mechanical strength: Long service life.

Installation
The equipment is placed on a level foundation and securely fastened with anchor bolts or welded to anchor plates pre-buried in the foundation. Once installed, the equipment's horizontal deviation must not exceed 5mm.
After the equipment installation and adjustment are complete, proceed to install the valves at various pipe openings and the external connecting piping. Prior to the installation of the valves and piping, ensure the interior surface of the piping and the flange connection surfaces are cleaned thoroughly to prevent rust and oil污 from contaminating the filter layer.
The equipment workshop can be equipped with an open channel drainage trench, covered with a cover plate at the opening of the trench.
The intake manifold of the equipment must be higher than the filter's peak to prevent water from reversing into the Roots blower during cleaning operations. If this requirement cannot be met, a check valve should be installed in the air line.
Equipment Maintenance and Precautions
(1) Fiber Filter Media Performance & Replacement Cycle
The fiber filter uses a high polymer chemical fiber material as its filter medium. It primarily adsorbs suspended matter in water through surface physical adsorption, and after adsorbing sludge, it can be regenerated physically by washing with water and air. This material has a heat resistance of 106-127°C and strong resistance to corrosion by various alkalis and non-oxidizing acids.
(2) Important Notes
Possible causes of poor water quality after filtration: Filter bed failure, incomplete cleaning, incoming water with air, improper dosage of coagulant, excessive fluctuation in filtration flow rate, valve closure not tight at the water inlet for cleaning, inaccurate sampling and testing. Special cleaning required in the following situations: During the operation of the equipment, if a large number of microorganisms are found to be breeding on the fibers or if a significant amount of oil污 is adsorbed, special cleaning is necessary. The filter material can be soaked in a 2% NaOH solution for 24 hours before cleaning.
