Overview

The Deep Cone Concentrator is a product in the solid-liquid separation process. It offers low investment, small land area, high efficiency, and significant improvements in the quality of both underflow concentration and overflow water. Moreover, it can truly achieve intelligent operation. Generally, its processing capacity is 2 to 3 times higher than that of traditional concentrators. After adding an inclined plate to the straight section, its efficiency can reach 4 to 8 times that of traditional concentrators; the underflow concentration can reach 70%; and the quality of overflow water can meet national emission standards.


Deep cone concentrator sedimentation principle

A well-designed settling process for concentrators requires three indispensable stages: coagulation and destabilization, flocculation and granulation, and filtration and compression. However, the realization of these stages necessitates certain equipment to ensure their effectiveness; without proper equipment,絮凝 reactions cannot be fully achieved, and the separation of solid and liquid cannot reach a satisfactory level.

After completing the aforementioned stage, the particles, freed from repulsion, begin to aggregate under the influence of slow fluid dynamics and the action of long molecular chains. The larger flocs continue to grow, and the settling velocity will increase several to even dozens of times. This process occurs within a coalescence reactor.

As more and more large flocs accumulate, an ideal dense phase layer forms at the bottom of the deep cone concentrator. Above the dense phase layer, thicker but still unstable flocs settle, essentially acting as a floating filter medium. They provide beneficial interception for small particles that escape with the rising flow. The sediment at the bottom of the dense phase layer, under the combined action of greater water head and material gravity, allows the underflow of the deep cone concentrator to achieve higher pressure, significantly increasing the concentration of the material about to be discharged.

1) The tilting version material is modified PVC or PP polypropylene board, with a high polymer surface treatment that offers wear-resistant, anti-aging, and anti-static properties.

2) The bottom fabric achieves appropriate upstream sedimentation, shortening the sedimentation distance and time; a filter layer is set to further intercept rising fine particles, enhancing the efficiency of solid-liquid separation.

3) Due to the high pressure at the bottom of the equipment, the gap water can be further drained, resulting in an increased underflow concentration.

Equipment Installation

1. The machine features a circular support at the truncated cone section, a circular flat support at the bottom of the truncated cone, and is welded to the pre-buried iron after the equipment is positioned.

2. When installing sections of the machine, ensure strict verification of their vertical and horizontal alignments. Continuous welding should not exhibit any leakage or seepage.

3. During the installation of the vertical shaft, ensure its verticality, keeping the top edge of the column level, allowing for even overflow around the edges.

4. The in-board inclined plate must be securely installed with even spacing, without damaging the surface.


Operational Use

1. This machine demonstrates excellent efficiency in sedimentation and concentration of suspended particles in fine slurries (≤0.3mm) and low concentrations (30~50g/l).

2. Under normal feeding conditions, the addition amount of flocculant should be 3~5 g/m, but it must be diluted first. Both colloidal and powdered flocculants should be first prepared into a solution of 0.5%~1.0%, then diluted to a solution of approximately 0.1% for use. Multiple additions are recommended, using either spraying or feeding the entire width of the slime slurry intake trough, to ensure thorough mixing with the slime slurry.

3. Under normal feed conditions, it is advisable to maintain the underflow solid content between 300~600 g/l. When the underflow discharge volume is large, the solid content decreases, and the treatment volume increases; conversely, when the requirement for underflow concentration is increased (usually not greater than 600g/l), the discharge volume decreases, and the treatment (feed) volume also accordingly decreases. The discharge system of the concentrated underflow should be determined based on the concentration requirements of the circulating water (concentrated overflow) from the washing plant. It is essential to ensure uniform and stable feeding and discharge for the deep cone concentrator.

4. When the entire production system is shut down, the underflow discharge needs to be delayed. The system can be stopped only after the suspended liquid in the standby tank has been emptied. However, discharges must still be performed every 2 hours to prevent blockages. If the shutdown exceeds 24 hours, the tank must be emptied and then flushed with high-pressure clean water to prevent solid particles from adhering to the inner walls and inclined plates, which could affect the next startup's performance.

5. The mixing system should generally not be shut down to prevent sedimentation. If it is necessary to shut down for any reason, it is crucial to check for sedimentation upon restart. If sedimentation is present, take appropriate measures to clean it up to avoid damaging the transmission and mixing system.

6. Regularly inspect for mud accumulation and blockages on the incline plate, and periodically flush with high-pressure water.

7. Maintain the motor reducer according to the instructions provided.
