How to Specifically Use a Trolley Furnace?

The fuel-heating trolley burners for the car furnace should be installed along the tangent direction of the bath tank. The bath tank should be rotated 30 to 40 degrees every certain period (such as weekly) to prevent local overheating and burning through, thereby extending the lifespan of the bath tank. Use refractory cement or asbestos padding between the bath tank rim and the furnace panel to seal and prevent molten salt from flowing into the furnace chamber.

Fuel heating of nitrate salt furnaces is not recommended to prevent the furnace tube from being burned through, which could lead to an explosion upon the reaction of carbon black with nitrate salt. The bottom of the traveling grate furnace should be equipped with a salt drain hole for the release of molten salt in case of an accident, while it should be sealed with appropriate materials during normal operation. The traveling grate furnace utilizes two thermocouples to separately measure the furnace chamber temperature near the salt bath and the heating elements.

When using toxic bath agents like lead and alkali, strong ventilation equipment should be installed. Key skills for the operation and maintenance of electrode salt bath furnaces: New or renovated electrode salt bath furnaces should be baked, which can be done by using a resistance wire pan furnace for baking, with segmented temperature increase and maintenance, to prevent concrete bath tanks from cracking. During operation, exhaust fans should be turned on, and the furnace mouth should be covered during power outages.

The furnace shell and transformer should be grounded. The copper busbars and electrode handles should have excellent contact. Inspect for any leakage or short circuits in the bath tank, electrodes, electrode handles, transformers, and water cooling equipment. Clean the furnace of adherent salt, scale, and other impurities. Maintain a certain level of salt on the liquid surface to ensure even and rapid heating of the workpieces. Oxygen should be removed promptly, slag should be removed, and sufficient new salt should be added.
