In recent years, with the accelerated industrial upgrade of China's textile industry, there has been a significant transformation in the product structure of the textile machinery market. The proportion of traditional textile machinery equipment sales has been decreasing, while the demand for automated, continuous, high-speed, intelligent, and large-capacity textile machinery equipment has seen a substantial increase. Gao Yong, Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Textile Industry Federation, pointed out that this shift in equipment demand reflects not only the direction of product structure adjustment and industrial upgrading in our textile industry but also the inevitable choice due to the rising labor and raw material costs currently facing the industry. The use of high-speed, intelligent, and large-capacity textile machinery equipment by textile enterprises can reduce labor, improve efficiency; at the same time, considering the current global shortage of raw materials such as cotton, it is necessary to utilize high-end equipment to maximize the value of fibers and increase product value-added. In the next 5 to 10 years, this trend of demand will become even more pronounced. The changing demand for equipment in China's textile industry has garnered significant attention from the global textile machinery industry.
In the past, factories established by global textile machinery manufacturers in China were primarily focused on assembling equipment suitable for the Chinese market, with little design and development taking place within the country. However, this scenario is changing as many companies have now started to conduct research and development, as well as design, for the next generation of products in China. Not only are these efforts targeted at the Chinese market, but China is also emerging as a research and manufacturing hub, exporting to other global markets. For instance, the eAFK, a new fully automatic synthetic fiber spinning machine showcased by Oerlikon at ITMA 2011, was the company's first product developed and produced entirely in China. Prior to and following the 2012 China International Textile Machinery Fair and ITMA Asia, several international top-tier textile machinery manufacturers held grand openings for their new Chinese factories and headquarters, further emphasizing the significance of the Chinese market and indicating the accelerated shift of the global textile machinery industry's center of gravity to China.
