Key Technical Points for Large Diameter Water Meter Construction and Installation

Proper construction of large-diameter water meters (DN50 and above) is crucial for measurement accuracy and lifespan. Key control points include:

I. Installation Environment Requirements

The foundation treatment: the concrete base should be elevated 10-15 cm above ground level, with a load-bearing capacity of 1.5 times the weight of the equipment to prevent settlement and deformation.

Spatial Arrangement: The length of the straight pipe sections before and after should be ≥10 times the pipe diameter (front) and ≥5 times the pipe diameter (rear), ensuring stable water flow.

Environmental Protection: Subsurface well rooms must be equipped with drainage facilities, have good ventilation, and maintain humidity below 85%.

II. Pipeline Construction Standards

Calibration to China Standards: Adjusted with a laser level instrument, flange parallelism deviation ≤ 1mm, to avoid stress deformation.

Vibration Damping: Installation of rubber flexible joints to compensate for pipeline thermal expansion and contraction (recommended compensation ≥ 10mm)

Flow Control: Arrow indicates the direction of water flow; turbine water meters must ensure there are no bends 30D upstream.

Section 3: Standard for Commissioning and Acceptance

Pressure Test: Conducted in segments, the pressure test was performed at 1.5 times the working pressure, with a holding time of 30 minutes and a pressure drop ≤ 0.05 MPa.

Zero Calibration: Under the condition of valves downstream being closed, the instantaneous flow display should be ≤0.5 m³/h.

Anti-interference Measures: Electromagnetic water meters should be kept at a distance of more than 3 meters from inverters to avoid electromagnetic interference.

Upon completion of the construction, the equipment information QR code should be affixed, recording parameters such as installation angle and pressure grade for later intelligent operation and maintenance management.
