Selection Requirements and Application Scope for Wastewater Pumps

Selection Note:

1. Understand the pump operating environment and select the correct pump type (usually just wet and dry types).

2. Determine the required head of the pump. Occasionally, we encounter customers who include the flatland conveying distance in the head calculation, which is incorrect. The flatland conveying distance must be multiplied by the friction coefficient before it can be included in the head calculation.

3. Account for wear on pipe elbows and friction in pipelines; these factors vary in reality, making precise calculation quite cumbersome. Therefore, it is advisable to leave some room to ensure the pump can effectively discharge water.

4. When selecting a stainless steel sewage pump, it's crucial to understand the acidity and alkalinity of the water, as well as the particle diameter. Choose the appropriate stainless steel material. Generally, 304 grade is suitable for pH levels between 4~10; for pH levels outside this range, it's recommended to use 316 or 316L stainless steel.

5. Pumps must be operated within their rated lift range to ensure the motor does not overheat.

For example, the actual required lift height is 30 meters, but using a pump with a standard lift height below 30 meters to pump water is a misuse, which can cause the motor to overload. In severe cases, the motor may be damaged.

Pump pipes must be cleared, as clogged pipes can also lead to motor overload, and in severe cases, can cause the motor to burn out.
