Composition and Structure of Fire Doors

Fire-resistant doors are typically installed in the following locations.

(1) The stairways leading to corridors are sealed off; the elevator shaft is closed, as well as the doors from the antechamber to the corridor.

(2) Inspections doors for vertical pipe wells such as cable wells, pipe wells, smoke shafts, and waste chutes.

(3) Divide fire compartments and control the door installations on fire-resistant walls and partitions within the compartmented areas. In cases where it is difficult to install fire walls or fire doors in the building, fire curtain doors should be used instead, and water curtains must be provided for protection.

Fire-resistant doors should be used for partition doors in equipment rooms of fixed fire extinguishing systems installed in high-rise residential buildings (such as cylinder rooms, foam stations, etc.), ventilation and air conditioning rooms, etc. Doors on partition walls of underground rooms where people frequently stay or there is a lot of combustible material should also be fire-resistant. Due to conditions, if fuel or gas boilers, oil-immersed power transformers with combustible oil, high-voltage capacitors and switches filled with combustible oil, etc., are arranged in high-rise buildings, fire-resistant doors should be used on partition walls of these rooms. Additionally, for partition doors of individual units with special fire-resistant requirements, such as fire monitoring and command centers, archives and documents rooms, valuable items warehouses, etc., typically, Class B fire-resistant doors are chosen. For individual doors in high-rise luxury residential buildings, fire-resistant and burglar-proof doors are commonly used. The requirement for fire-resistant properties of fire-resistant doors makes them an important component of fire protection equipment and a crucial part of social fire prevention. Fire-resistant doors should be equipped with fire door closers or have a mechanism that allows fire-resistant doors to automatically close in the event of a fire (except for special locations, such as pipe shaft doors). In other words, except for special locations like pipe shaft doors that do not require door closers, all other locations should have fire door closers installed.
