Rotary Extractor Tower

The rotary disk extractor, abbreviated as RDC, is a type of mechanical stirred extractor. It consists of a vertical cylinder with horizontal static ring baffles. The static ring baffles are flat plates with a central viewing hole, dividing the cylinder into a series of extraction chambers. Each chamber has a disk in the center, with a series of disks mounted parallel to the shaft. The upper and lower sections of the disks and static rings are respectively two clarification chambers. Like other extraction towers, during operation, the light phase and heavy phase enter the disk from the bottom and top of the tower, respectively, and the two phases contact countercurrently within the extraction tower. Under the action of the disk, the dispersed phase forms small droplets, increasing the mass transfer area between the two phases. The light phase and heavy phase that complete the extraction process are then discharged from the top and bottom of the tower, respectively.

This product is suitable for liquid-liquid extraction processes, particularly those involving countercurrent or cocurrent flows. The system may contain a small amount of suspended solid particles.
