Brake pads, also known as brake shoes, are the most critical safety components in a car's braking system, as they play a decisive role in the effectiveness of all braking. Generally composed of steel plates, a heat-resistant bonding layer, and friction blocks, the heat-resistant layer is made of non-conductive materials to insulate heat. The friction blocks consist of friction material and adhesive, which are compressed against the brake disc and drum during braking to generate friction, thereby slowing down and stopping the vehicle.
