Product Description

Our MMA (Methyl Methacrylate) waterproof coatings are composed of a three-layer process. These include a corrosion-resistant primer, a two-layer MMA waterproofing layer, and an adhesive layer.

Its main film-forming substance is a copolymer of methyl methacrylate (MMA) and butyl methacrylate (MBA). Under the action of organosilicon modification, it boasts excellent interlayer adhesion.

Activating free radicals through an oxidation-reduction reaction system to achieve a rapid curing process of chain activation, chain growth, and chain termination.

Flooring structure diagram

Methyl methacrylate (MMA) waterproof coating is primarily used in the lower layer of bridge deck paving for cast asphalt + SMA asphalt double-layer structures, that is, MMA waterproofing layer + cast lower layer + SMA upper layer. It leverages the excellent low-temperature crack resistance, tensile strength, and adhesion of MMA to provide waterproofing, corrosion prevention, and rust protection.

For cast-in-place asphalt bridge decks, the waterproofing material must have excellent low-temperature properties and resistance to high-temperature deformation.

Methyl methacrylate (MMA) activates free radicals through a redox reaction system, achieving a rapid curing process of chain activation, chain growth, and chain termination. The cured coating has a high molecular weight, which causes its bonding strength to the steel plate to decrease to only about 0.1-0.2 MPa at temperatures of 60-70°C, without adversely affecting the adhesion strength.

Under the effect of the long-lasting internal plasticizer based on advanced technology, it exhibits excellent low-temperature flexibility, and its adhesive strength to steel plates can meet the requirements of the overall paving layer's load at lower temperatures.

Physical Properties

Advantages

Excellent high and low temperature adhesive stability.

2. Excellent fatigue crack and deformation resistance.

3. Excellent chemical corrosion resistance and waterproof protection.

4. Can cure normally at low temperatures, with a wide temperature range for application, from -20°C to 45°C.

5. Excellent interlayer adhesion, making it less prone to delamination during later use.

6. Resists surface temperatures up to 250 degrees Celsius for paving layers.

7. Resistant to chloride ion penetration and boasts superior corrosion resistance.

8. Construction convenience: suitable for spraying with a spray gun, manual scraping, or manual rolling.
