Common Mechanical Failures in Wind Turbines and Their Solutions
Excessive bearing temperature rise:
Bearings support seat severe vibration.
② Poor quality lubricating oil, deterioration, presence of dust, sand, dirt, and other impurities; excessive or insufficient tension on the bearing housing connecting bolts; bearing operation with insufficient oil.
Axle and bearing installation is skewed, with the front and rear axle bearings not concentric.
④ Bearings are damaged or have reached their lifespan.
⑤ The fan shaft and motor shaft are unbalanced, and the belt groove is misaligned.
2. Turbine Vibration
Impeller imbalance
②Loose impeller screws or deformed wheel disc and blades.
③ Insufficient or unstable basic rigidity;
④Shell and bracket bearing connection bolts are loose.
Suspension misplacement causes center of gravity shift
3. Impeller Polishing
Impeller imbalance or deformation
②Shell or inlet with impeller friction;
③ Blade impeller reversal leads to loosening of blade fasteners.
④ Impeller shaft bore and shaft looseness
⑤ Poor installation of the fan's intake and exhaust air ducts.
