Due to the large size of the workpieces and the significant upsetting and clamping forces, the machine requires sufficient rigidity to ensure the accuracy of the flat forging. Depending on the parting surface position of the die, flat upsetting machines can be categorized into vertical and horizontal parting types. The commonly used type is the vertical parting. The horizontal parting flat upsetting machine has better operating conditions and is easier to automate, but its structure is more complex.
