Common materials for sheet metal processing:

Galvanized Steel Sheet SECC

SECC is made from standard cold-rolled steel coils, which, after undergoing degreasing, acid cleaning, electroplating, and various post-processing procedures on a continuous electro-galvanizing line, become electro-galvanized products. SECC not only boasts the mechanical properties and similar workability of typical cold-rolled steel sheets but also offers superior corrosion resistance and decorative appearance. It holds significant competitiveness and substitution potential in markets for electronic products, household appliances, and furniture. For instance, SECC is widely used in computer cases.

2. Standard Cold Rolled Sheet SPCC

SPCC refers to steel billets being continuously rolled into sheet steel coils or strips to the required thickness by a cold rolling mill. The SPCC surface has no protective coating and is prone to oxidation when exposed to air, especially in humid environments where oxidation occurs more rapidly, leading to dark red rust. Painting, electroplating, or other protective measures should be applied to the surface during use.

3. Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel Sheet SGCC

Hot-dip galvanized steel coils refer to semi-finished products that have been cleaned and annealed after hot rolling or cold rolling, then immersed in a molten zinc bath at approximately 460°C to coat the steel sheets with zinc. The resulting coils are further processed through tempering, leveling, and chemical treatment. SGCC material is harder than SECC material, has lower ductility (avoid deep drawing designs), thicker zinc coating, and poorer welding properties.

Stainless Steel SUS304

One of the widely used stainless steels, containing Ni (nickel), is more corrosion and heat resistant than steel containing Cr (chromium), boasts excellent mechanical properties, does not exhibit hardening after heat treatment, and has no elasticity.

5. Stainless Steel SUS301

Chromium content is lower than SUS304, with poorer corrosion resistance. However, after cold working, it achieves excellent tensile strength and hardness in stamping processing, with good elasticity. It is commonly used in leaf springs and EMI shielding.
