Surface Filter

Overview

An automatic backwash surface filter is a low-pressure backwash liquid filtration equipment that combines surface filtration technology, industrial automatic control technology, and innovative valve technology. It filters using positive pressure, employing filter membranes with surface filtration properties, which allows all solid particles and suspended matter in the liquid to be retained on the surface of the filter membrane, making it an appropriate solid-liquid separation device.

Filter characteristics and working principle

1. Filter Features

1.1 Simple structure, comprehensive system

The automatic backwashing surface filter consists of the upper and lower drum bodies, filter elements, manifold, air control valves, controller, and related piping. It logically integrates the filtration system, backwashing system, sludge discharge system, and automatic control system into one cohesive unit.

1.2 Low-pressure filtration

The automatic anti-backwashing surface filter operates under positive pressure filtration, functioning normally within a filtration pressure range of 0.05MPa to 0.15MPa.

1.3 Broad filtration range

Solids content in filtered liquids, ranging from 20PPm (0.002%) to 100000PPm (10%), can be effectively removed.

1.4 Wide temperature range

The automatic anti-skinning surface filter has a wide operating temperature range and can function normally below 260°C.

1.5 Good Chemical Stability

Automatic anti-dirty surface filter has good chemical stability, and can withstand acids, alkalis, and salt solutions well.

High level of automation

Automatic backwashing surface filters utilize the filtered clean liquid to complete the backwashing process. No need to empty the filter during backwashing, which can be done in seconds. After backwashing, the filter is ready for filtration again. The filter residue is discharged through the drain port, with the entire process controlled automatically by the computer.

Long lifespan, low cost

Automatic anti-backwash surface filters utilize special filter membranes, which have a long service life and reduce maintenance costs; due to the use of low-pressure filtration, the equipment consumes less energy, significantly lowering operational costs.

1.8 Compact and space-saving

The automatic anti-sediment surface filter occupies only one-tenth of the floor space required by a traditional filter of the same processing capacity, and its volume is also smaller than that of other filter units.

2. Operating Principle

2.1 Filter

Pour the filtrate into the bottom of the filter, where the turbid liquid is filtered through the membrane. The clear liquid passes through the filter core into the upper drum, while the solid particles in the liquid are retained on the surface of the membrane, forming a filter cake.

2.2 Backwashing

In a matter of seconds, the liquid is drained to create a vacuum, causing the clear liquid to reflux and dislodge the filter cake entirely from the membrane surface.

2.3 Waste Discharge

After backwashing, the filter cake that detaches from the surface of the filter membrane settles at the bottom of the filter, and is rapidly discharged when it reaches a certain quantity.

2.4 Recirculating Filtration

The filtration and backwashing are continuously alternating, ensuring the continuous operation of the filter.

3. Filter Cartridge

The filter cores are composed of special filter membranes with surface filtration properties and supporting cage structures. Over ninety types of filter media can accommodate different liquid characteristics to achieve good results.

4. Automatic Control System

The automatic anti-backwash surface filter operates entirely under computerized full automation, displaying, modifying in real-time according to process requirements, and recording various process parameters. It features Chinese display and a human-machine interface. It can communicate with various host computers to achieve distributed control, making operation convenient and the operation stable and reliable.

5. Gas-Controlled Flexible Valve

The pneumatic control valve is a simple and innovative valve that uses the air pressure between the valve body and the liner. Through the flexible contact of the liner, it can quickly achieve full closure for liquids containing any solid particles or fibers. The design of the pneumatic valve is rational, with a wide range of applications, no internal or external leaks, uniform diameter of the pipeline and valve, easy installation, convenient control, and can be quickly and frequently opened and closed for tens of thousands of times with high quality.
