Refrigeration compressors are integral to the entire refrigeration system, playing a crucial role in the system by compressing low-temperature, low-pressure gas from the evaporator into high-temperature, high-pressure gas, providing the source power for the entire refrigeration cycle. Currently, the main types of compressors used in precision air conditioners in server rooms include reciprocating, rolling rotor, and scroll compressors. Reason: If the suction pipe plug is removed first, the refrigerant oil accumulated on the filter screen of the accumulator will be ejected with nitrogen, so the exhaust pipe plug should be removed first to lower the nitrogen pressure inside the compressor, and to weld the four-way valve and shut-off valve components in the server room precision air conditioner; moisture in the refrigerant; moisture entering the system due to leaks; improper sealing of the compressor, left open. Dangers: rust on the pump body, copper plating at high temperatures causing the compressor to seize, leading to oil oxidation and degradation of the coil insulation, and potentially causing system icing, rusting and deformation of the accumulator filter screen during operation. Oxide scale produced during the welding of impurity piping; impurities that may exist in other components of the refrigeration system.
System leakage caused by; compressor improper sealing, left open. Hazards: Easy to cause wear or jamming of moving parts in the cylinder, leading to motor burnout when falling onto the motor, and poor insulation resistance and breakdown between terminals. May not have been evacuated on both high and low pressure sides; insufficient suction time; system leakage. Hazards: Under the action of air, the refrigerant is decomposed; air being an uncondensable gas, leading to high system pressure and unstable operating conditions; increased exhaust temperature. Precision air conditioner in the machine room may have unsuitable capillary tubes; insufficient refrigerant amount; compressor capacity too high (wrong selection during selection); insufficient heat exchange capacity of the evaporator (filter clogging, etc.); overloading; improper system circulation design (small condenser); high external temperature; high pressure or blocked exhaust pipe; insufficient ventilation of the condenser, fan stoppage, grill clogging, etc., leading to reduced heat exchange capacity of the condenser. Hazards: Generally, the compressor exhaust pressure should be less than 2.6 Mpa.
After years of operation, the server room air conditioners, due to 24/7 continuous operation, are at high risk of shutdown due to fatigue and aging. Given the high cost of the equipment and limited configurations, coupled with a significant drop in operational efficiency, a shutdown would not only incur substantial repair costs for the equipment itself but also pose risks to the main equipment in the server room. Therefore, it is advisable to conduct major repairs early on.
I. Refrigeration System:
1. Inspect the operation of the refrigeration system, including compressor suction and discharge pressures; compressor working current; refrigerant and refrigeration oil levels; expansion valve performance; desiccant filter; solenoid valve; liquid sight glass; high and low pressure switches; outdoor unit coils, and other pipeline connections for leaks, etc.
2. Inspect or replace outdoor unit condenser components, including the condenser fan, and the speed controller (pressure switch).
3. Routine inspection of main components
A. Internal and external fan noise, condition of fan shaft and bearing deformation, fan bearing temperature, operating current. Check resistance values and winding balance.
B. Compressor noise, operating current, heat generation, pressure, verification of winding resistance, and winding balance. Check for winding over-temperature protection and crankshaft heater.
C. Condenser fan noise, operating current, heat generation, pressure, verification of winding resistance, and winding balance. Check for over-temperature protection of winding resistance.
4. Clean the filter mesh and check for any blockages in the air conditioning ducts. Verify the resistance values and inspect the over-temperature protection for the windings.
Inspect compressor operational performance, verify resistance values, and check over-temperature protection of the windings.
