Electric steel poles are made from steel materials such as polygonal steel pipes and round steel pipes, coated with hot-dip galvanized or hot-sprayed zinc (and zinc alloy) for corrosion protection. They are primarily used for electrical line installation and serve as a substitute for traditional concrete poles.

Advantages of Electric Steel Poles:

1) Small land occupation of steel poles - The small land occupation is a major advantage of steel poles. Traditional transmission towers and guyed towers all have the drawback of large land occupation. However, under the current market economy conditions, land prices continue to rise, and it becomes increasingly difficult to occupy land for transmission, with increasing investment. Moreover, in some special areas, such as urban central districts, there are no conditions to establish power towers. This is where steel poles become an excellent choice for transmission construction. Steel poles occupy less land, generally about 1/3 of a self-supporting tower, and their top dimensions are much smaller than those of towers, requiring a smaller airway corridor. Therefore, steel poles can generally meet various environmental requirements and save land costs. 2) Aesthetically pleasing design - This is another major advantage of steel poles. With the trend of urban construction and city transformation, the aesthetics and livability of cities are increasingly concerned by residents. Therefore, the requirements for the aesthetics of power line construction in urban development are getting higher, especially for urban scenic roads where the requirements are more stringent. Traditional towers struggle to meet these requirements. Steel poles, due to their compact structure and attractive, small appearance, can basically meet the aesthetic requirements. 3) Simple and quick construction - The construction of traditional iron towers requires a tower assembly process, whether it's a whole assembly or a segmented one, the construction period is roughly the same. In contrast, steel pole construction does not require an assembly process; it only needs to complete the installation of the steel pole cross arm and then assemble the entire structure. The construction speed is much faster than that of iron towers. Generally, a construction crew can assemble 1.5 to 2 iron towers a day, but can set up about 10 steel poles in a day. Therefore, using steel poles can significantly improve construction efficiency and shorten the construction period. 4) Non-prone to theft - Loss of tower materials has always been a major issue affecting the safe operation of iron towers. Although certain preventive measures have been taken, such as installing anti-theft bolts below 6 meters, the problem of material loss still occurs occasionally. Steel poles, being made of integrated plug-in or flange connections, basically solve the issue of lost components, reduce accident risks, and improve the health level of the power lines. In addition to the above advantages, steel poles also have the benefits of a short production cycle and the ability to withstand greater stresses.
