During the cleaning of reverse osmosis equipment, the cleaning solution is circulated at low pressure and high flow rate on the high-pressure side of the membrane. At this time, the membrane elements are still inside the pressure vessel, and a specialized cleaning device is required to perform the task.
Reverse Osmosis Equipment Cleaning Process for Reverse Osmosis Systems: General Steps
Pump clean, chlorine-free reverse osmosis water into the pressure vessel and discharge for a few minutes.
2. Use reverse osmosis purified water to prepare cleaning solutions (see Table 2).
3. The cleaning fluid is circulated in the pressure vessel for 1 hour or the pre-set time, with a flow rate of 35 to 40 gallons per minute (8 to 9 m³/h) for an 8-inch pressure vessel.
After the medicine washing is completed, drain the remaining solution from the medicine box, rinse it, and then place it in reverse osmosis fresh water.
Pump freshwater from the reservoir into the pressure vessel and release it for a few minutes.
6. After flushing the reverse osmosis system, open the freshwater outlet valve of the reverse osmosis system, and the reverse osmosis equipment will operate normally. Check the freshwater effluent water quality (foam-free, no cleaning agents, conductivity meets standards) after 15-30 minutes.
The reverse osmosis system's freshwater outlet valve was opened, and the freshwater outlet discharge valve was closed, restoring normal operation of the reverse osmosis equipment.
