Alkylphenol polyoxyethylene ether (TX-10) (APEO) is a significant non-ionic surfactant of the polyoxyethylene type. It boasts stability, resistance to acids and alkalis, and cost-effectiveness. Primarily used in the production of high-performance detergents, it is one of the commonly used main raw materials in dyeing auxiliaries. For a long time, alkylphenol polyoxyethylene ether has been required in various dyeing auxiliaries such as detergents, refining agents, spinning oils, softeners, wool oils, and metal cleaners.
Performance & Applications
1. TX-4 dissolves in oils and other organic solvents, exhibits excellent emulsifying properties, and serves as an oil-loving emulsifier for the preparation of w/o emulsions. In some organic synthesis reactions, it acts as a reaction medium, shortening reaction time and improving conversion rates. For instance, during the polymerization of polyvinyl chloride in plastics, it functions as a whole material agent, ensuring uniform shaping of PVC particles and preventing sticking to the pot. It can also be used as a dry cleaning detergent.
2. TX-5 is soluble in oils and general organic solvents, used as an emulsifier, coupling agent, antifreeze, rust inhibitor, dispersant, and intermediate for organic synthesis.
3. TX-7 is diffused in water and mineral oils, featuring excellent emulsifying and cleaning properties, commonly used as an emulsifier in general industry. It serves as a cleaner in wool, synthetic fiber, and metal processing industries. It can be used as a pre-dye and post-dye washing agent for polyacrylonitrile and as a saponification agent. Additionally, it can be formulated into a cationic dye leveler.
4. TX-9 and TX-10 are easily soluble in water, boasting excellent emulsifying and cleaning capabilities. They are a crucial component of synthetic detergents, capable of formulating various cleaning agents with exceptional cleaning power for animal, plant, and mineral oils. They are also part of the oil additives in the synthetic fiber industry, offering not only emulsifying properties but also static dissipation effects. In blended short fiber textile sizing, they act as softeners, enhancing the film's smoothness and elasticity, and providing colloidal protection. Generally used as emulsifiers in industrial applications, they ensure stable emulsions. They serve as preservatives, wetting agents, and battery corrosion inhibitors. In the dyeing and printing industry, they act as assistants for even dyeing, diffusion, wetting, and cleaning, demonstrating excellent performance. They are used as leveling agents in the new low-temperature dyeing process for wool. In the construction industry, they function as emulsifiers for asphalt emulsions and are a key component of metal-based cleaning agents. They are also used as wetting agents, foaming agents, and mud activity treatment agents in oilfields.
5. TX-12 is easily soluble in water and can be used as a detergent for unwashed wool with a wide pH range, a heavy-duty, low-foaming cleaner.
6. TX-15 serves as an o/w emulsifier, used as a cleaner in the metal, machinery, and textile industries.
7. TX-13 to 50 is highly soluble in water, boasting excellent emulsifying, dispersing, wetting, and permeating properties. It is used as a high-temperature emulsifier, high electrolyte concentration cleaner, wetting agent, stabilizer for synthetic rubber latex, special oil emulsifier, and agricultural emulsifier.
