For situations with significant deformation (over 40-60 mm), an expansion joint using steel plate as the gap material can be employed. It fixes the ends of the guard rail steel plates at the crack using pre-buried steel bars and pre-buried steel plates, then connects the guard rail steel plates to the comb-shaped steel plates with high-strength bolts. This secures the comb-shaped steel plates on both sides of the crack, allowing for displacement and deformation at the crack through the gaps of the comb.
