Ensuring Safe Water Supply for a 100 Billion Yuan Industrial Park

On November 28th, the "Yunnan Central Water Diversion Huaping" floating barge, a key component of the water lifting project in the Guanyin Rock Reservoir Area of Huaping County, was successfully launched by Hunan Zhongda Energy-saving Pump Co., Ltd., under the lead design of the Yunnan Provincial Hydrology and Water Conservancy Design Institute. This milestone signifies the completion of the water intake hardware facilities for the project, marking a significant step towards achieving the goal of water supply.

The Guanyin Rock Reservoir Transfer Project in Huaping County is responsible for the comprehensive task of providing industrial water supply, industrial park town water supply, rural human and animal living water supply, and farmland irrigation water supply in the project area. The total output value of the industrial park in Huaping County is expected to exceed 200 billion yuan in 2023. With the development of the economy and society, the strategic location of the ancient city area and high-tech industrial economic zone in Lijiang City, the Jiuhexiang of Yulong County, the dry-hot valley area of Yongsheng County, and the Shilongba Industrial Park of Huaping County has become increasingly important in the economic and social development process of Lijiang City. The shortage of water resources has severely restricted economic and social development, and extreme weather phenomena occur frequently, posing difficulties for the residents' living and production water supply in the area.

The Wanyan Reservoir Water Transfer Project in Huaping County, upon completion, will primarily ensure 21.384 million cubic meters of industrial water supply for the Rongjiang, Shilongba, and Xingquan industrial parks. It will also provide 6.0万人 with 516.8万 cubic meters of production and living water for the small towns within the industrial parks. For the Longjing, Minzhu, Jizhu, and Demao villages in Shilongba Town, which house 12,000 rural inhabitants, the project will supply 677万 cubic meters of living water. The water intake is located on the left bank of the Wanyan Hydropower Station reservoir, with the receiving area in the southeastern part of Huaping County. The project's estimated total investment is 5.3 billion yuan, with a total length of the pipeline at 40.7 kilometers. It is equipped with one floating boat pump station and two ground pump stations, with a total installed capacity of 13,625 kilowatts across the three stations, where the Shilongba Pump Station has a water lifting height of up to 516.5 meters. The project's completion will address the irrigation water needs for 4.65 square kilometers of mango plantations in Huaping County.

Once shrouded in a perpetual gray sky and smoky air, filled with carelessly stacked coal gangue, Huaping has now transformed. The mountains are green, the skies are blue, the waters are clear, and the air is fresh. The hills are lush with greenery, and mangoes scent the air, earning it the title of a "Green Mountains and Clear Waters Are as Precious as Gold and Silver" practice and innovation base. It has achieved a magnificent transformation from "black" to "green."
