Aluminum alloy bin baskets have distinct advantages compared to conventional steel bin baskets:
1. Lightweight and high strength - The density of aluminum alloy is only one-third that of steel, significantly reducing the weight of the drum. Moreover, the tensile strength of aluminum alloy is comparable to that of ordinary steel, making its specific strength three times that of steel.
2. Excellent corrosion resistance - The surface of the aluminum alloy has passivation properties, excellent resistance to oxidation and alkalis. According to relevant information, the general service life of steel drum cages is 3 to 5 years, whereas aluminum alloy drum cages can be used for over 10 years under the same conditions.
3. Energy-saving and Efficiency Improvement: Using aluminum alloy cages for newly constructed mines can downgrade the hoisting machine, achieving the goal of cost reduction and energy saving. For existing mines, replacing the cages with aluminum alloy ones can significantly increase production and address overloading issues.
