Description

Low-voltage junction box, as the name implies, is a concentrator box for lines with lower voltage, commonly used in modern home renovations, such as network cables, telephone lines, computer monitors, USB cables, TV VGA, color difference, antennas, etc., can all be placed inside; however, if these items are not arranged in order, they become a tangled mess, appearing disharmonious and affecting cleaning. In summary, the low-voltage junction box is used for housing these devices and organizing the cables.

Brief introduction

In 2002, the country initiated a policy to separate low and high voltage electricity, leading to the emergence of low voltage junction boxes. These are primarily used for unified management, distribution, and wiring of low voltage signals in homes, including networking, telephony, television, and security wiring. The main purpose is to prevent interference from high voltage on low voltage signals, thereby enhancing the quality of life at home. Starting in 2007, their use expanded significantly. In 2007, the country standardized the use of multimedia information boxes in Shanghai, Suzhou, and Fujian as pilot markets. As a result, the use of low voltage junction boxes began to be emulated nationwide, leading to their widespread adoption by real estate developers.

Low-voltage electrical box, also known as smart home wiring box, multimedia box, wiring cabinet, home wiring box, integrated wiring box, corridor box, integrated cabinet, crossover box, multimedia information box, distribution box, home multimedia box, family information access box, multimedia wiring box, multimedia wiring cabinet, home information box, residential information wiring box, home wiring cabinet, smart wiring box, smart cabinet.

Strength and Weakness Differences

The difference between a high-voltage cabinet and a low-voltage cabinet

In residential building construction, intelligent building electrical technology encompasses two main categories: strong electricity and weak electricity. The issue of centralized control and management for strong electricity entering the household has been resolved with the distribution box. However, the sources carrying information such as voice, images, and data, with numerous lines and increasing complexity, present numerous inconveniences for users in terms of use, distribution, and maintenance. Therefore, the adoption of integrated weak electricity integration products to standardize weak electricity wiring has become an essential project for future home renovations and the realization of smart buildings. To meet the demand for weak electricity products, new intelligent multimedia home information access boxes, wiring boxes, and weak electricity boxes have been introduced. They can connect transmission devices for voice, data, images, and security as well as control and management equipment. They fundamentally change the issues of unclear images, loud phone noise, and slow broadband network speeds caused by users' self-wiring. They can effectively resolve the access issues for home phones, the internet, cable TV, and more, avoiding various network problems caused by conventional wiring system failures and the need for re-wiring due to environmental changes, thereby saving both material and human resources.

Key Advantages

Benefits of Low-Voltage Cabinets:

One, unified cabling management for home low-voltage signal lines enhances overall home aesthetics. It also enables resource sharing: with just one VCR/sound system/satellite receiver, you can watch movies and enjoy background music in every room. Multiple computers can connect to share broadband services; multiple phone lines can be answered and transferred freely.

Section 2: Separate high and low voltage wiring. The induced eddy currents from high voltage wires will not affect the low voltage signals, making the low voltage section more stable.

Three, in compliance with urban residential building comprehensive cabling system engineering design specifications and other standards, meets the interface requirements of today's information appliances, and can also accommodate future new technologies and products. Truly achieving a "one-step solution."

Four: Clear and safe, easy to maintain. The new assembly structure or home bus system is reliable and secure. The functional modules separate inputs and outputs, making them clear at a glance, and maintenance and upgrades can be done without assistance. All modules are designed for plug-and-play, requiring no professional wiring tools or installation personnel, allowing residents to install them themselves.

Five, Strong Scalability: Structured design with excellent expandability and upgradability, catering to the current and future needs of various users. With the new outdoor line entry, simply connect it to the smart multimedia box; there's no need to pull new wires or re-route cables. It offers greater convenience for self-management of low-voltage wiring. For real estate developers, it's a cost-effective way to enhance the selling points of houses, benefiting both residents and property sales.

High performance-to-price ratio; less cost, more peace of mind for future troubles.

Application Fields

The low-voltage cabinet is widely used in smart home, intelligent building, building intelligence, smart electrical, low-voltage engineering, system integration, smart community, building automation, building intelligence, building electrical, building appliances, cabling, home cabling, network cabling, smart cabling, cabling systems, the world of cabling, home local area network, home network, home decoration, home renovation, home interior decoration, home interior design, home appliance intelligence, and various engineering projects.

Key Points for Home Wiring: Electrical and Low-Voltage Installation

1. During home renovation, all indoor wiring should be routed through conduits and use well-insulated single-core copper wires. When routing through conduits, the total cross-sectional area of the wires inside should not exceed 40% of the conduit's internal diameter, and there should be no joints or twists inside the conduit. Wires should not be installed in the same conduit as telephone lines, closed-circuit television lines, communication lines, etc.

2. Pay attention to the laying of wires during cabling, and follow the construction regulations specified by the decorative design. Ensure short-circuit protection, over-load protection, and the selection of wire cross-sections. The installation of low-voltage electrical systems should comply with the current national standards.

3. A leakage circuit breaker should be installed inside the distribution box, with multiple branch lines for controlling lighting, air conditioning, power outlets, etc., ensuring that the circuits are properly loaded for normal operation.

4. Heaters must not be installed using standard outlets and should not be directly mounted on combustible structures. In the bathroom, it is advisable to use splash-proof outlets.

5. The selection of the cross-sectional area for lighting and electrical heating load wires should ensure that the safe current carrying capacity of the conductors exceeds the sum of the rated current of all appliances in the branch circuit. The capacity of each branch circuit should not exceed the capacity of the incoming line. The color of the heavy-duty wires should be distinguished by different colored wires, with phase wires in red, green, or yellow, neutral wires in blue or black, and grounding wires in alternating yellow and green双色 grounding wires. The grounding protection should be reliable, and the insulation resistance between conductors and between conductors and ground should be greater than 0.5MΩ.

6. The outlet should be no less than 300mm from the ground. Leave some extra length of wire in the junction box, about 150mm in length. When wiring, the live wire should enter the switch, the neutral wire should go directly to the light socket, and the live wire of a screw-type light socket should not be connected to the case. The height of the lighting switch from the ground should be about 1.3 meters, and the switch should not be installed behind the door.

7. Electrical piping within suspended ceilings should comply with the requirements for exposed piping and must not be fixed to the ceiling hangers or joists. The placement of light socket boxes and junction boxes should facilitate maintenance and be covered with a cover plate. For installations using flexible hoses connected to light positions, the length should not exceed 1 meter. The ends of the flexible hoses should be connected to junction boxes with fittings, ensuring a secure connection to the lighting fixtures. The metal flexible hoses themselves should be grounded for safety. No exposed wiring of either high or low voltage should be present within the suspended ceiling.

8. Phase and neutral wire positions for power outlets are right phase and left neutral. Outlets with a ground hole should have the ground socket in the top position, ensuring reliable grounding. The switch outlet should be securely installed. Inspect using visual and manual methods, and use electrical testing tools to verify that the phase, neutral, and ground wire positions on the outlet meet requirements.

9. The spacing between wiring and gas piping should be ≥100MM on the same plane, and ≥50MM on different planes. The distance between electrical switch joints and gas piping should be ≥250MM on the same plane, and ≥150MM on different planes.

10. Telephone lines, TV signals, and audio connection wires are separately laid out with branching cables, using transmission lines and maintaining a certain distance between them to prevent interference among different signals. The shielding mesh of the TV signal transmission lines is trimmed evenly to avoid a short circuit with the center wire, otherwise, it may cause unclear images. TV and telephone connections use "connectors." Use a multimeter to check for open circuits and other issues between connections, and use an ohmmeter to test grounding. Seal after inspection and confirmation of compliance.
