In today's society, the demand for noise is becoming increasingly high. How to effectively control its noise pollution is a difficult and highly valuable task, which is also the main focus of our noise control efforts. In order to do this job well, the first step is to understand and analyze the composition of noise from diesel generator sets. Exhaust noise control: By attenuating sound waves through expansion chambers and perforated plates, the sound is converted into heat and disappears. An effective method to control exhaust noise is to install exhaust mufflers. This standard specifies the technical requirements for the design, construction, acceptance, and operation management of diesel generator noise treatment projects, which can serve as a technical basis for environmental impact assessment, feasibility study, design and construction, environmental protection acceptance, and post construction operation and management.

3. Design of muffler for generator set
(1) The generator noise should meet the corresponding noise emission standards for each regional category in the standard "Environmental Noise Standards for Urban Areas" (GB 3097-93).
(2) The scale and process of diesel generator noise treatment should be determined based on the actual situation such as the location of the enterprise's diesel generator, the spatial structure of the machine room, the power and quantity of the generators, etc., to achieve environmental protection, economic rationality, and technical reliability.
(3) The selection of engineering technical solutions should comply with the requirements of the environmental impact assessment report approval document, and the noise treatment of diesel generators should stably meet the relevant local emission standards.
4. Noise control of generator sets and forms of exhaust silencers for generator sets
The noise of diesel generators mainly includes the exhaust noise, intake noise, combustion noise of the engine, mechanical noise generated by the cyclic high-speed movement and impact of moving parts such as connecting rods, pistons, and gears during operation, and the airflow noise of the cooling water exhaust fan. The comprehensive noise of diesel generator sets is very high, generally reaching 100-125dB (A) depending on the power level. The methods for noise control of diesel generators include noise reduction treatment of intake, exhaust, and gas exhaust channels, sound absorption treatment in the engine room, and sound insulation treatment in the engine room. The damping generator muffler is a split cavity tube type structure, and a grid hole damper is installed in the third cavity (turbulence cavity) to remove the impact vibration and vortex formed by multiple vortices of the airflow inside the muffler, reducing exhaust noise and unnecessary power loss. There are many types of generator silencers, but when it comes to their noise reduction principles, they are mainly divided into six types: resistive silencers, resistance silencers, impedance composite silencers, micro perforated plate silencers, small hole silencers, and damping silencers. Our company producesThe diesel generator set adopts multi-stage mufflersIt includes an intake pipe, an inner duct, two layers of inner partitions, an inner exhaust pipe, a muffler, and an exhaust pipe. The center of the intake pipe is fixed at 1/6 of the muffler and is perpendicular to the axis of the muffler. Both ends of the muffler are sealed with sealing plates, and the exhaust pipe is fixed to the end face of the muffler. At least two partitions are fixed inside the muffler to divide the muffler into multiple equal parts. There is an inner ventilation pipe and a ventilation pipe made of perforated plates between the two layers of partitions, forming a maze for exhaust gas. Then, the exhaust gas is led to the exhaust pipe through the inner exhaust pipe on the outer partition, and the exhaust gas is discharged. The inner walls of the muffler and the exhaust pipe are filled with sound-absorbing and heat-insulating stainless steel wire mesh and microporous plates, which are used to reflect exhaust gas noise. Absorption, impedance silencing of exhaust gas in suburban areas to attenuate its sound field, thereby achieving the effect of noise reduction. Compared to two-stage mufflers and industrial mufflers, multi-stage muffler expansion chambers have good mid to high frequency noise reduction performance; After installing the muffler, it does not affect the efficiency of the equipment and can ensure smooth intake and exhaust; But it has a large volume and is suitable for use on units with high noise reduction requirements or in noise reduction rooms. It can reduce noise by 25-35dBA.
