Medium-voltage fire-resistant cables operate on a different fire-resistant mechanism than low-voltage cables. Wrapping the conductor with mica tape does not guarantee circuit integrity, and without insulation protection under high voltage, the circuit will short-circuit.
To ensure the electrical insulation's fire resistance, an integrated fire-retardant layer is used to isolate the fire source, blocking the entry of flame heat into the insulation, thereby providing fire resistance.
