Plate-type condensers are a new type of high-efficiency condensers made by stacking a series of metal plates with certain corrugated shapes. The thin rectangular channels between the plates facilitate heat exchange. Plate heat exchangers are ideal for liquid-liquid and liquid-vapor heat exchange. They offer high heat exchange efficiency, minimal heat loss, compact and lightweight design, small footprint, easy installation and cleaning, wide application, and long service life. Under the same pressure drop, their footprint is one-third that of tubular heat exchangers, and the heat recovery rate can reach over 90%.
The plate-type condenser consists of a set of corrugated metal plates with holes for the two heat transfer fluids to pass through. The metal plates are mounted in a frame with a fixed plate and a movable clamp plate on one side, secured with clamping bolts. Seal washers are fitted on the plates to seal the fluid passages and guide the fluids alternately into their respective channels.
