SMT assembly refers to the abbreviated term for a series of processing procedures performed on the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) base.
SMT stands for Surface Mount Technology, a popular technique and process in the electronics assembly industry. It is also known as Surface Mount Technology (SMT), or Surface Mounting Technology. It involves mounting pinless or short-leaded surface mount components (abbreviated as SMC/SMD, known as chip components in Chinese) onto the surface of a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) or other substrates, and then焊接assembling them using methods like reflow soldering or immersion soldering.
In most cases, the electronic products we use are assembled from PCBs and various electronic components such as capacitors and resistors, following the circuit diagrams designed. Therefore, a variety of electrical appliances require different SMT surface mount technology processes for manufacturing.
