Our company's unrestricted bellows expansion joints are used for axial compensation of pipelines, offering large compensation capacity. They can be applied to overhead pipeline installations, trench laying, and also to compensated direct-buried installations. In the latter case, a manhole or a blind chamber should be provided at the unrestricted compensation joint.
The unrestricted bellows compensator features strong self-aligning and bending resistance, thereby simplifying the design of pipeline guide supports and allowing for arbitrary spacing of the guide supports installation.
Installation Requirements for Unrestricted Wavy Compensator:
"Unrestricted" refers to the previous axial-type bellows expansion joints, which were named due to the many constraints on their use. The unrestricted bellows expansion joint eliminates the requirements for guide brackets L1≤4Dg and L2≤14Dg, as well as L3, of the previous axial-type expansion joints. Using unrestricted bellows expansion joints allows for arbitrary spacing between pipe supports.
Due to the strong support and fixing capabilities of the unrestricted bellows compensator, it not only cancels the pre-stretching work but also greatly relaxes the installation requirements. The unrestricted bellows compensator can be installed in the pipeline like a short section of pipe, without the need to first weld a full-length steel pipe as required by other axial compensators and then cut it to the same length as the compensator. Additionally, thanks to the sturdy housing of the unrestricted bellows compensator, transportation, installation, and insulation are also made easier. However, the following points still need to be noted:
1. Directional sleeves must not come into contact with solid objects to prevent interference with the movement of the guide ring.
2. The working medium inside the pipeline should be treated. When the compensator is installed close to the ground or in a trench, there must be adequate drainage measures in place. Unprocessed, unconfined bellows compensators must not be immersed in wastewater.
3. Ensure the directional flow tube is aligned with the medium's flow direction during installation.
4. The unrestricted bellows compensator permits system hydrostatic testing up to 1.5 times the nominal pressure.
5. Pressure testing is conducted after the fixed bracket is installed.
