Rectangular bellows compensator, also known as rectangular bellows expansion joint or rectangular bellows, is divided into: rectangular single bellows compensator, rectangular double bellows compensator, rectangular triple bellows compensator, and rectangular multi-bellows compensator, according to the number of bellows; and into rectangular right-angle compensator and rectangular rounded compensator, according to the bellows shape.
The rectangular bellows compensator is manufactured from austenitic stainless steel material or as per the customer's specified material, offering excellent flexibility. It is used for compensating and absorbing vibrations, reducing noise, and eliminating mechanical displacements between pipes or between pipes and equipment. The choice of different metal materials depends on the application, and due to the varying materials, the performance and applications of the rectangular bellows compensator also differ.
Rectangular bellows compensators are used in power plant flue gas ducts, featuring rectangular cross-sections. A single compensator in the pipeline can withstand two-dimensional displacements, while an elbow pipe composed of two compensators can bear three-dimensional displacements.
How to Select a Rectangular Bellows Compensator:
1. After the user selects a rectangular bellows compensator based on the piping thermal displacement, at least the following information is required: the flow medium inside the pipe, the design pressure of the flue and duct, the operating temperature, the outline dimensions (length and width) of the cross-section of the flue and duct, the selected wave shape (right-angled wave, rounded wave), and the wave number/length/compensation amount, so that we can proceed with the structural design and manufacturing of the bellows compensator.
2. Allowable expansion per wave: Full height type △α=±24mm, half height type △α=±12mm.
3. Dust Shield: Not required for air ducts or dust-free pipelines; dust shields should be used for dusty flues.
4. To reduce the number of waves in the rectangular bellows compensator, consider cold drawing by 50%.
5. Standard semi-high rectangular bellows compensators are suitable for applications where the cross-sectional area is less than 4.6 square meters and one side of the flue and air duct dimensions is less than 1.5m but greater than 0.6mm. Standard full-height rectangular bellows compensators are suitable for flue and air ducts.
