
A plunger metering pump is a special volumetric pump that can meet the needs of various stringent process requirements, primarily used for transporting liquids, especially corrosive ones.
Operating Principle
The plunger-type metering pump directly draws in and discharges the working medium through the reciprocating motion of the plunger. As the plunger moves inward, the chamber volume decreases, pushing the liquid out of the pump; when the plunger moves outward, the chamber volume increases, allowing liquid to be drawn into the pump. By continuously repeating this reciprocating motion, the plunger pump can continuously transfer liquid.
Features
Flow Adjustment: Flow can be infinitely adjusted between 0-99%, maintaining a constant flow rate irrespective of the discharge pressure.
Applicable Medium: Suitable for high viscosity media, but not suitable for conveying corrosive slurries and hazardous chemicals._
Accuracy and Pressure: Measurement accuracy up to ±1%, pressure up to 350 MPa; flow rate remains almost unchanged during pressure variations at the outlet.
Material: Stainless steel and PTFE are used for parts in direct contact with the medium, suitable for general particles and odorless, tasteless media.
Application Fields: Widely used in the petrochemical, food, and other industrial sectors.
Structural composition
The plunger metering pump is mainly composed of three parts: the motor, transmission box, and cylinder body. The transmission box components include the turbine worm mechanism, stroke adjustment mechanism, and crank connecting rod mechanism; the cylinder body components include the pump head, suction valve assembly, discharge valve assembly, plunger, and stuffing box seals.
Common Types
Piston-type metering pumps come in two main types: valve-equipped pumps and valveless pumps. Valve-equipped pumps control the fluid's intake and discharge through the opening and closing of valves, while valveless pumps rely on their unique internal design to meter and convey fluids.
