Carbon Dioxide Storage Tank


1 Overview


The low-temperature liquid carbon dioxide storage tank is a double-walled container consisting of an inner and an outer vessel. It is of vacuum powder insulation type and is available in both vertical and horizontal configurations. The inner vessel is made of 16MnDR material, while the outer vessel can be selected as Q235-B or 16MnR depending on the user's location. The space between the inner and outer vessels is filled with pearl sand insulation material and then vacuumized. (Available in both vertical and horizontal types)

3 Insulation Performance


Insulation materials are filled with pearlescent sand under heat conditions and then vacuumed. The standard vacuum degree after the sandwich is sealed is:


Effective Volume: ≤ 10 m³ with vacuum ≤ 2 Pa, > 10 m³ and ≤ 50 m³ with vacuum ≤ 3 Pa, > 50 m³ and ≤ 100 m³ with vacuum ≤ 5 Pa. Crafted with exquisite technology, unique filling process, and a commitment to quality, ensuring the best thermal insulation.


4 Security Technical Features


The low-temperature liquid carbon dioxide storage tank utilizes a "combined, safety system valve" that employs two safety valves operating simultaneously. During regular safety valve inspections, one side can be closed while the other continues to function, ensuring the safe operation of the tank.


5 Operating Systems


The storage tank container is equipped with a pressure gauge, a differential pressure level gauge, and a level reference chart at the top, allowing for real-time monitoring of the container's stored volume and pressure changes, facilitating operations during filling and draining.


6 Detection System


The bottom of the tank is equipped with a dedicated vacuum detection system, vacuum gauge, and vacuum valve. The vacuum level in the tank can be periodically or immediately checked using a vacuum gauge to ensure the safe operation of the tank.

Liquid Oxygen Storage Tank


Overview


This series of low-temperature storage tanks is a double-layer fixed vacuum powder insulation tank (tank). The inner tank is made of stainless steel (16MnDR for CO2 tanks), and the outer tank is made of Q235B or 16MnR. Surface anti-corrosion coating is applied through shot blasting, sweeping, and spraying processes, along with a two-component rapid curing liquid paint.


Application Scope and Features


Primarily used for the low-temperature storage of gases such as liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, liquid argon, and carbon dioxide. One cubic meter of liquid can replace 130 gas cylinders. It can eliminate the daily transportation of gas cylinders, saving a significant amount of labor and material resources. Widely used in industries with high gas consumption such as the gas industry, hospitals, and metal smelting, it is the best product for centralized gas supply. It features a long service life, compact structure, minimal land use, centralized control, and easy operation.

Natural gas is widely recognized as a clean, environmentally friendly, and safe high-quality energy source. After liquefaction, its volume is reduced by about 600 times, which greatly benefits storage. Storage of liquefied natural gas (LNG) is done in atmospheric pressure and low-temperature tanks. Let's discuss the unique features of these LNG tanks.

What are the special requirements for LNG low-temperature storage tanks?

1.Low-temperature resistance

At atmospheric pressure, the boiling point of liquefied natural gas (LNG) is -160°C. LNG is stored at low temperatures and atmospheric pressure, lowering the gas temperature below its boiling point. This causes the operational pressure of the storage tank to be slightly above atmospheric, which, compared to high-pressure, high-temperature storage, significantly reduces the tank wall thickness and enhances safety performance.

Therefore, LNG requires storage tanks with excellent low-temperature resistance and superior insulation properties.

2.High safety requirements

Due to the storage of low-temperature liquids inside the tank, in the event of an accident, the refrigerated liquid will evaporate in large quantities, with the vaporization amount being approximately 300 times that of the original refrigerated state, forming an explosive gas cloud in the atmosphere.

Therefore, standards such as API and BS require double-walled tank structures and the use of containment concepts. In the event of a leak in the first layer, the second layer can completely contain the leaked liquid and evaporated gases, ensuring storage safety.

3.Special Material

The inner tank wall requires low-temperature resistance, typically made of 9Ni steel or aluminum alloys, while the outer tank wall is made of pre-stressed reinforced concrete.

4.Thermal insulation measures are stringent

The tank must have excellent insulation properties to maintain an internal temperature of -160°C, given the maximum temperature difference between inside and outside the tank can reach up to 200°C. High-performance insulation material should be filled between the inner and outer tanks. The insulation material at the bottom of the tank must also have sufficient pressure-bearing capacity.

5.Excellent seismic performance

The seismic requirements for general buildings are to crack but not collapse under specified seismic loads. To ensure the safety of storage tanks under unexpected loads, they must possess excellent seismic performance. For LNG storage tanks, it is required that they neither collapse nor crack under specified seismic loads.

Therefore, the selected construction site generally avoids seismic fault zones, and seismic tests must be conducted on the storage tanks before construction to analyze the structural performance under dynamic conditions, ensuring that the tank body does not sustain damage under the given seismic intensity.

6.Strict construction requirements

Tanks must undergo 100% magnetic particle testing (MT) and 100% vacuum leak testing (VBT). Select insulating materials meticulously, and adhere to the specified procedures during construction. To prevent cracks in the concrete, post-tensioned prestressed construction is used universally, with stringent control over the verticality of the tank walls.
