
Cast Iron Gate valves are primarily made of cast iron, commonly used for controlling the opening and closing of water flow, often found in water conservancy projects such as reservoirs, rivers, and hydropower stations. These gates feature high strength, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance, capable of withstanding significant water pressure, with low maintenance costs and long service life.
Structure and Working Principle
The cast iron gate is mainly composed of gate frame, gate plate, hanging seat, and tight closure angle iron, etc. The gate plate is the component that directly withstands the water pressure, while the gate frame serves as the support structure for the gate plate and the running slide track. The gate frame is typically mounted and fixed to the secondary concrete of the weir pier and weir bottom plate with anchor bolts, evenly transferring the water pressure exerted on the gate plate to the bottom of the chamber.
Categories and Applications
Wrought iron gates are divided into two main categories based on the shape of the gate plate: PZ flat gates and PGZ arched gates. They are further categorized into two types of structural combinations: integral and assembled. Small-sized gates are typically made in an integral design, while gates of medium size and above are generally assembled for ease of transportation and installation. Wrought iron gates are widely used for regulating flow, controlling water levels, or as closure gates to prevent water during maintenance, suitable for various hydraulic engineering and industrial applications.
