The Umbrella Gear Knife Gate Valve is a valve that operates by an umbrella gear drive mechanism, primarily used in modern industrial applications, particularly in pipelines for mining, tailings, papermaking, wastewater treatment, oil, and food processing. It features a compact structure, effortless operation, and excellent sealing performance, suitable for a variety of media.
Structure Composition
The gear-type gate valve consists mainly of the following components:
Body: Typically made of cast iron, cast steel, or stainless steel, the body features a channel to accommodate the gate plate, ensuring smooth fluid flow.
Sluice Gate: A blade-like shape that moves up and down within a valve body to control the flow of fluids. The material of the sluice gate varies depending on the application scenario, with common options including stainless steel and carbon steel.
Rim Gear Drive Mechanism: Comprising a rim gear and a valve rod, driven manually or electrically/pneumatically, to achieve the up and down movement of the gate plate.
Seals: Installed between the gate and valve body, common sealing materials include rubber and polytetrafluoroethylene, ensuring excellent sealing performance.
Operating Principle
The operating principle of the bevel gear knife gate valve is as follows:
Opening Process: The operation handle or power source (electric or pneumatic) drives the helical gear to rotate, which in turn moves the valve rod upwards. This causes the gate to gradually disengage from the sealing surface inside the valve body, allowing the fluid passage to open up and for fluid to flow smoothly through the valve.
Closing Process: Reverse rotate the bevel gear, the valve rod moves the gate plate downward, gradually bringing the gate plate close to and tightly seal against the sealing surface of the valve body, thus cutting off the fluid passage and achieving the closure of the valve.
Performance Features
The umbrella bevel gear gate valve boasts the following performance characteristics:
Effortless Operation: The bevel gear drive mechanism makes operation more effortless, particularly suitable for valves with large diameters or high pressure, and enables remote operation and automated control.
Excellent sealing performance: Utilizes sealing materials and a rational sealing structure to effectively prevent fluid leakage.
Low fluid resistance: The gate plate moves vertically up and down, ensuring a clear fluid passage with minimal resistance, thereby reducing energy loss in the pipeline system.
