Pneumatic knife gate valves are valves driven by compressed air, primarily used for controlling the on/off of fluids. Their structural features include the upper part being an air actuator and the lower part being the valve, with the gate as the moving part, which moves perpendicular to the fluid direction. Knife gate valves can only be fully open or fully closed, not for regulation or throttling.
Operating Principle
Pneumatic ball valves use compressed air to enter the pneumatic actuator, driving the piston movement, and then rotate or lift the torsion shaft to drive the valve rod and open/close the valve. Its working principle can be divided into two types: single-acting and double-acting.
Single-acting: Equipped with a spring, the valve is closed by the spring when no gas enters. When gas enters, the valve closes, and when the gas is cut off, the spring drives the piston to open the valve.
Double-acting: Requires a 2-way 5-port solenoid valve. When gas enters the cylinder, it rotates the piston to close the valve with torque. Upon opening, gas enters from another orifice, simultaneously disconnecting the previous orifice.
Performance Advantages
Operational Performance: The pneumatic knife gate valve features rapid response and control capabilities, with the immediacy of compressed air enabling the valve to quickly open or close within a short time frame, thereby enhancing production efficiency._
Safe and Reliable: Designed and manufactured robustly for stable operation in various harsh environments, with excellent sealing performance to effectively prevent medium leakage.
Easy to Maintain: Simple design, straightforward maintenance, long service life, sealing materials can be selected based on the medium to reduce corrosion risk._
Versatile: Suitable for various fluid media, including gases, liquids, slurry, etc., with strong material selection for sealing.
Remote Control: Operate remotely via the control system to enhance automation.
Energy-saving and environmental protection: Low energy consumption, excellent sealing performance, and reduced medium waste.
Application Scenario
Pneumatic knife gate valves are widely used in industries such as oil, gas, petrochemical, and water treatment. Their advantages include simple and compact structure, reasonable design, lightweight material saving, easy and flexible operation, small size, smooth flow path, low flow resistance, light weight, easy installation and disassembly.
