The Dual-Operation Knife Gate Valve combines manual and pneumatic operation methods, widely used in various industrial fields. Its design is unique and complex, primarily consisting of the valve body, valve plate, valve stem, transmission device, and seals. The valve plate features a knife-shaped slanting cut at the bottom, which excels in handling media containing solid particles or fibers, effectively cutting through impurities in the medium and preventing valve blockage.
Working Principle and Application Scenarios
The working principle of the two-way knife gate valve is based on the vertical movement of the gate plate to control the flow and cutoff of the medium. When the valve needs to be closed, the actuator drives the valve rod downward, causing the gate plate to move along the valve body's guide rail downward until the sealing surface of the gate plate is tightly fitted against the valve seat, thereby cutting off the flow of the medium. Conversely, when the valve needs to be opened, the actuator drives the valve rod upward, allowing the gate plate to move away from the valve seat, and the medium can then pass through the valve.
This valve is suitable for various industrial applications, including power, oil, chemicals, papermaking, construction, wastewater environmental protection projects, metallurgy, cement plants, etc. It is particularly designed for handling media with high viscosity, solid particles, or fibers, such as syrups, pulp, wastewater, coal slurry, ash, air mixtures, and sludge mixtures.
Operation Methods and Performance Features
The double-action gate valve with a hand-grip design features the following main performance characteristics:
Double-acting: Two-position control for valve opening and closing.
Single-acting: The valve automatically opens or closes (spring returns) during electrical and air circuit shutdown or failure.
Multi-layer sealed structure: Ensures zero leakage even under high differential pressure conditions.
Abrasion-resistant Material: Valve seats are typically made from abrasion-resistant materials, significantly extending the lifespan of the valve.
Modular design: Key components can be replaced individually, reducing maintenance costs and downtime.
This valve's design ensures exceptional performance under various operating conditions, particularly in scenarios requiring quick cut-off or opening. Its manual operation mode is suitable for routine use, while the pneumatic mode is ideal for remote control and automation, thereby enhancing the valve's applicability and reliability.
