II. Physical Properties
- Hardness and Strength: The black sesame stone has an extremely high hardness, second only to China Black, with a compressive strength over 200MPa. It can withstand frequent foot traffic and vehicle碾压, making it suitable for public places with heavy foot traffic.
- Abrasion and corrosion resistance: The stone surface is dense, with strong wear resistance and excellent resistance to acidity and alkalinity as well as weathering. Even when exposed to outdoor environments for a long time, it maintains the integrity of its appearance and the stability of its color.
- Water Absorption and Freeze-Thaw Resistance: Low water absorption, typically below 0.5%, endows it with excellent freeze-thaw resistance. In cold northern regions, it is not prone to cracking or peeling even after repeated freezing and thawing during winter.
- Non-slip and easy to maintain: The surface treatment of the sesame black stone is diverse, including fire-blasted and litchi finishes, offering good non-slip properties. It is also cost-effective to maintain, as it only requires a simple rinse with clean water to keep it clean.
